Every parent likes to brag about their kids’ achievements. Every milestone is just so pressure like taking the first step, making the first sound, speaking the first word, going to the school, and so on. And this is entirely justified, parenting is bliss and you want to cherish every single bit of it.

However, it should never be turned into a competition. You may share your kids’ achievements with everyone else but you may not lie about it just to showcase that your kids are better than all the others. This is so foul and can actually put other parents in concern even if their kids are on track and healthy.

Reddit user u/No_Common7843 has a SIL who always does this. She tells everyone about how her kids achieved so many milestones at a very young age. Fine! But the issue is, she lies about them all. She also says her kids are better in every domain.

OP and her husband used to always ignore her until they had twins and SIL started saying there was something wrong with their kids. OP had had enough with SIL insulting her kids so she decided to take petty revenge by gifting her a book that contained all the world records her kids had broken.
