DIY Mandarin Liqueur Recipe | How to Make Homemade Mandarin Liquor 2026

Making homemade liqueurs is incredibly simple and offers a wide variety of possible flavors: licorice, strawberry, bay leaf, lemon, orange… today we’ll see how to make mandarin liqueur.

Preparation

1. Wash the mandarins thoroughly and peel them, removing as much of the white pith from the peel as possible.
2. With a sharp knife, roughly chop the peels to get pieces for maceration.
3. Place the chopped peels and cinnamon stick in a jar with alcohol and let macerate for 20 days in an airtight glass jar. (For storing your ingredients, consider kitchen storage solutions to keep your workspace organized.)
4. Over moderate heat, dissolve the sugar in water, boil for 5 minutes, then let cool.
5. Filter the macerated mixture through a cotton cloth to remove any impurities. A home improvement tip: use a fine-mesh strainer for easier filtering.
6. Add the syrup, bottle the liqueur, and let it rest in a dark, dry place for about two months before consuming.
