There’s a certain category of people who will go to any lengths to avoid paying for services rendered. Emotional manipulation, faulty logic, pretending to be a victim, guilt-tripping, screaming, and shouting—they’ll go to any lengths to weasel their way out of parting with their cash. It can be incredibly insulting to a professional when they’re told that they should do something for free because they enjoy it. Artists of all kinds, especially, fall victim to these attempts at exploitation. That’s exactly what happened to a professional tattoo artist who goes by u/rockpaperpowerfist on Reddit. He shared screenshots of his conversation with an annoying and entitled client on the r/mildlyinfuriating subreddit, and how he rejected them. The jobless client thought that they’d be able to convince the artist to work for free by calling their profession a hobby. A hobby! The jobless client believed that by referring to their occupation as a pastime, they would be able to persuade the artist to work for free. A pastime! Which is actually very infurating.
Buddies, scroll down to read the rest of the story and leave your thoughts in the comments. Has someone ever attempted to persuade you to work for free? If that’s the case, tell us about it so we can advise all the other fellows out there on how to deal with entitled clients.
1. He asks to see her work but says he’s too lazy to go through the Facebook pictures, explains well why he won’t pay
2. “You lost me at the money” is the lamest thing you should say to someone you ought to pay
3. Now that’s a new statement, if you are enjoying something that it doesn’t matter you get paid for it, wow
4. The audacity of him saying he’s amazing and the artist should choose him to tattoo for free
5. It’s great how the artist went straight with this beggar person
