There is already a tendency for 8GB to remain the standard configuration in mid-range laptops, even though the software industry recommends 16GB as the minimum for these systems. In this way, manufacturers seek to "split" available DRAM across more products, temporarily addressing the shortage.

The third solution concerns delays in launches, a practice that has already been implemented. An industry insider, as reported by Chosun Biz, estimates that changes in the market response strategy, such as shifting releases or reducing the premium range, will be inevitable.

In the wider ecosystem, major GPU manufacturers are reported to be seeking to accelerate timelines, while CPU companies such as Intel and AMD aim to launch retail products based on the DRAM quantities they have already secured. Under these circumstances, the PC supply chain is at risk of entering a "dry" period for the next generations of products, which may lead to existing lines being kept on the market for longer than anticipated. Despite the seriousness of the picture, it is pointed out that currently there is little scope for immediate treatment of memory deficiencies.
