Last year realme took its first step towards finally bringing a proper flagship and while the realme GT7 Pro had many strong points, it also had some serious weaknesses. These were mainly the 8MP ultra-wide camera and mainly the lack of wireless charging. This year, the company wants to bring a proper flagship with the realme GT8 Pro, which will come to right the wrongs.

One of the key design features of the realme GT8 Pro is the change in the camera island, which will now be removed to be replaced with other designs increasing the customization the user can do on their device. Of course we will not be able to change the position of the lenses, since such a thing is not possible, but the company in collaboration with Ricoh will be able to offer some different designs. In the images so far we see at least two different designs for the island, while the company's teaser shows that we will have at least three. In previous leaks we've seen small screws holding the island in place, so changing it might not be such a simple process.

But let's go to the most essential features of the device. The realme GT8 Pro will come with a 6.78-inch OLED display with a QHD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel will be 10-bit and will likely be made by BOE.

Inside the device we will have the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is the most powerful chipset for smartphones at the moment! Together we will have 16GB of RAM, while its battery will be 7000mAh, with the possibility of charging at 120W.

Photographically, we will have the main camera with the LYT-808 sensor at 50MP, with optical stabilization (OIS). The ultra-wide-angle camera will also be 50MP, with the Samsung JN5 sensor. What will be impressive, however, will be the periscopic camera of the device, which will have the Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor, at 200MP.

Along with the above we will have better stereo speakers as well as an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. We will have improved haptics, while the device will be IP69 certified. This means that the switching system of the camera island will not affect the tightness of the device.

We expect the device to launch with realme UI 7, based on Android 16.
