Samsung Galaxy S26+: New leaks point to a return to a more classic design 2026

The first images of the Samsung Galaxy S26+ seem to reveal that the company is returning to a more traditional design, abandoning the "ultra-thin" philosophy of the Edge.

Renders come from CAD files leaked by well-known tipster OnLeaks, in collaboration with Android Headlines.

This year's appearance of the Galaxy S25 Edge had impressed with its thin profile, but poor sales seem to have led Samsung to revise its plans. Instead of a new "Edge", the company is expected to continue with the more familiar proposal of the S26 Plus.

According to the renders, the Galaxy S26+ will feature a flat metal frame with gently rounded corners, offering better grip ergonomics. The design is strongly reminiscent of the S25 Plus, with small but visible improvements in lines and symmetry.

The back houses a triple camera inside a single, vertical module — similar to what we recently saw on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This is a change from the split sensor design of the S25 Plus.

On the front, the device appears to feature a 6.7-inch flat screen, with ultra-thin bezels. The dimensions, according to the leak, are 158.4 x 75.7 x 7.35mm, making the new model slightly thicker than its predecessor.

On the inside, the Galaxy S26+ is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in most markets, while the Exynos 2600 may be preferred in some regions. It will reportedly come in 256GB and 512GB storage variants.

As for the cameras, Samsung is likely to use new ISOCELL sensors, the main one being 50MP (S5KGNG). The battery capacity is expected to remain at 4,900mAh, the same as that of the S25 Plus.

The latest information suggests that the Galaxy S26 series will be unveiled earlier than any other year, with an announcement in late January and a market launch in early February 2026.
