Xiaomi Smart Storage NAS Launches in China, Spain Wait Continues 2026

Xiaomi has officially launched its Smart Storage NAS in China, marking a significant step into the networked storage market. The device, priced at around €345 for the 4TB base model, is currently exclusive to the Chinese market, with no confirmed international release date—leaving Spanish consumers waiting.

What is the Xiaomi Smart Storage NAS?

The Xiaomi Smart Storage is a network-attached storage (NAS) solution designed to centralize backups for all connected devices, from smartphones to surveillance cameras and TVs. Its standout feature is native integration with HyperOS, Xiaomi's proprietary operating system, enabling seamless automatic synchronization without relying on third-party cloud services.

This move aligns with Xiaomi's broader strategy of expanding its connected ecosystem, offering users a private, local storage alternative that enhances data privacy and reduces dependency on external servers.

Key Features and Specifications

While Xiaomi has not released full technical details, the Smart Storage emphasizes ease of use and deep integration with Xiaomi's device lineup. The base model offers 4TB of storage, catering to households with growing data needs.

Why Xiaomi's NAS Matters for the Smart Home

As smart homes generate increasing amounts of data—from security footage to media libraries—local storage solutions like the Smart Storage become essential. Xiaomi's entry could disrupt the NAS market by offering a tightly integrated, user-friendly option at a relatively low price point.

For existing Xiaomi users, the appeal is clear: a seamless extension of their device ecosystem that keeps data private and accessible. However, the lack of global availability limits its impact for now.

Xiaomi Smart Storage vs. Competing NAS Solutions

While Xiaomi's NAS is not yet available outside China, consumers in Spain can consider alternatives like the UGREEN NASync DXP2800, which offers 2 bays and 8GB DDR5 RAM. Here's how they compare based on available information:

When Will Xiaomi Smart Storage Launch in Spain?

Xiaomi has not announced any plans to bring the Smart Storage to international markets, including Spain. Historically, the company tests advanced storage and smart home products in China before considering global distribution. This cautious approach allows Xiaomi to gauge demand and refine the product based on local feedback.

For Spanish consumers, the wait could be lengthy. Meanwhile, alternatives from established NAS brands remain readily available. What This Means for Spanish Consumers

The absence of Xiaomi's NAS in Spain leaves a gap for those seeking an affordable, HyperOS-integrated storage solution.
