This meant that if you used Thinking enough, you would "eat" the same quota you would later need for Pro, which was inconvenient for those who had different needs in the same day.

The change that Google is bringing now is that the usage limits for Thinking and Pro will no longer be common. Each model will have its own quota, independent of the other.

The company says that this is done after feedback from users, who wanted more accuracy and transparency in which model they choose for their daily tasks. Practically speaking, you can now use Thinking without worrying about limiting Pro availability within the same day.

With the new system, subscriptions get separate quotas per model.

For AI Pro, Google gives 300 Thinking prompts per day, while Pro remains at 100 prompts per day.

For AI Ultra, Thinking goes up to 1500 prompts per day, while Pro stays at 500 prompts per day.

In simple words, Thinking is significantly enhanced, while Pro maintains the same limits, probably because it is considered a more "heavy" model in terms of computing resources.
