I understand that he didn’t want to tell his parents as he might have been embarrassed but then he should have stood up for his partner. What else was she supposed to do when they kept insinuating that she was only with him for the money? The only way to put this thing to rest was by telling them that their son was unemployed and she was the one paying the bills. I am also surprised by how the family reacted. I realize that he lied to them and it is fine to be disappointed about that but the fact that he doesn’t have a job anymore should not embarrass his parents.
