The study, conducted by consultancy New AutoMotive for the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA), found that after 90,000 to 120,000 miles, EVs were about 25% less likely to fail an MOT than petrol cars of the same age. Specifically, the failure rate for EVs was 16.5% compared to 22.1% for petrol vehicles. Beyond 120,000 miles, the gap widened further: only 16% of EVs failed, versus 23.5% of petrol cars.
