DIY Barbecue Table, the philosophy of this table is that anyone can cook whatever they want and for as long as they need to prepare their food. However, some problems arose when creating it, such as overheating, weight, and decomposition due to external factors such as weather conditions.
Materials:
- Square metal tubes
- Cement board
- Plywood
- Wood glue
- Wood screws
- Wood putty
- Rock wool insulation
- Epoxy resin
- Hardener
- Clear varnish
Tools:
- Tape measure
- Circular saw
- Welding machine
- Router
- Nail gun
- Cordless drill
- Sander
- Angle grinder
- Finishing spray
Step 1: Capacity

The capacity of the table must be for 12 people, so the long length of our manufacture (250 cm x 120 cm) required a metal frame from the inside to avoid any deformation due to the excessive weight of this table.
Step 2: Metal Frame/Square Tubes

We made a metal frame using a square hollow section known as 60mm x 60mm square tubes, 220cm long and 100cm wide with four legs 73cm high. At the central point of this frame, a connection was made to place the barbecue.
The entire top surface of the frame was then coated with a cement board used for fire safety.
As for the final surface of the table, we use plywood that is waterproof, as well as for the rest frame, we use the same type of wood.
At the central point under the table, a wooden box was made that covers the barbecue to protect the user from high temperatures.
Therefore, to increase the performance of our structure and protect this wooden box, we line the inner side of the box with rock wool which is a heat insulating material and then we also put the cement board for fire safety.
Step 3: Barbecue

The barbecue has the potential to be removed and placed back in place for easy cleaning. The edge of the top surface was kept the natural color of the wood, while the rest became black.
Then the entire table was varnished. Also, we should mention that on days when the table will not be used as a barbecue, we made a wooden cover to put it as a common table.
After completing our manufacturing and testing, we were satisfied with the result as there was no increase in temperature in the places where we needed to insulate ourselves from the heat. We were pleased to find that with very few coals, we could cook our food on the barbecue for three hours or maybe more.
The only expected problem we had was the smoke that was caused by cooking. Although, this can lead us to another manufacture, which will be an extractor to collect the smoke that will accumulate on the table.
