Guide on how to plaster a brick wall, a brick wall, even if it is painted, has the problem that it collects a lot of dust in the stones, in addition to its relief being very noticeable and, in the long run, it can bore or restrict the possibilities of hanging pictures and decorating. It is a matter of taste, which can be resolved by smoothing the wall to erase the appearance and texture of the brick, the idea is to leave a completely smooth wall, without reliefs and stonework.

Tools:
- Spatula
- Bubble level
- Plain
- Chisel
- Gloves
- Lead
- Support strip
- Hammer
- Plain
- Rule

1 Chop the wall
- Using a chisel and hammer, score the wall to increase the porosity. This way the plaster will have a greater ability to adhere to the surface.

2 set the stops
- Two master guides must be formed at a distance of 40 cm from each edge of the wall, these guides will mark the thickness of the plaster layer.
- Fix 2 pieces of ceramic or very thin wood on the top of the wall with a little plaster. The distance between these stops should be less than the length of the strip used to drag and level the plaster. For example, if the ruler measures 2 meters, the distance between stops should be approximately 1.20 meters.
- From the top stops, throw the lead to determine the correct position of the second stop of each master guide. The tip of the sinker is the location of the second stop.

3 Fill in the masters
- With plaster fill the verticals that form the stops glued to the wall. The thickness must be that of the top, that is, the filling must be flush with the top.
- Using the spatula and trowel, pour mortar vertically, spread it and adjust it with the strip so that it is even.

4 Plaster the wall
- Once the slabs are dry, you can start filling the wall.
- Spread a good amount of plaster with the trowel and adjust it with the long strip. It is better to start from below the wall, covering areas and not a large surface

5 set the stops
- As the plaster dries, use the batten and trowel to even out the wall.
- Check the plumb line and the level of the wall.

- Once the surface is smoothed and before the plaster hardens, remove the ceramic stops and cover the hole.
