On this occasion we will teach you how to make a mailbox with a wooden support, which will highlight the entrance to your home.
I've included some pictures of materials and supplies you'll need to build this.
I have also put the supply and equipment lists in the supply list below.
Supplies:
- 5 cedar boards 4”x4”x6′(¾”x6”x6’) pressure treated fence post.
- Standard 5/16” mailbox
- Galvanized washers 1 ½” inside corner braces 6”x1 ⅝”
- Galvanized Phillips screws (76)
- 50lb Concrete Mix Bag (4) Mailbox Numbers
Tools to make a mailbox with a wooden support:
- Electric drill 19.2V
- Ryobi electric drill
- Table saw ratchet wrench with ½” 3/16” connector
- Carpentry clamps
- Clamps
Step 1: Placing the base of the mailbox

The first thing you'll want to do is put the base of the mailbox together. I have placed the 5/16″ screws on the top of the post to show where I am placing the screws. The wood clamps help hold the wood in place when you drill the pilot holes with the Irwin bit, and drive the security screws. In with the key.
Step 2: Place the wood panels on the base of the mailbox

After placing the base, it is time to place the panels on the base. Use a saw to cut the fence post into 21-inch segments. Next, make two 7″ segments for the top of the fence post. If you want to make a pointed design with the top piece of wood, you can. If not, don't worry. Next, use a 1″ Block Spacer to space the wood planks evenly along the posts. Finally, drill your holes and screw the boards to the fence post. Now, you have a mailbox post that is solid and can be placed on the ground.
Step 3: How to plant the base of the mailbox in the ground

First, you need to call the city to start digging holes in your yard. Once this was done, the first step was to digDrill a 14″ deep hole and have a 17″ grass space between the fence post. After digging the hole, I place bags of concrete in the hole with the mail from the mailbox and let it dry overnight.
Step 4: Put the mailbox on the base

After the concrete dried, I made a 7.5″ wood plank for my mailbox to sit on, on top of the base. I drilled the wood plank into the top of the base and placed the mailbox on top. and screwed the mailbox into the wooden plank. Now you have a mailbox!
