First steps

This project requires a little more work and skill with some tools, but if you are already used to manual activities done with wood, you will find it easier. To make the shelf we will need wooden pallets, an electric saw, hammer, sandpaper, nails, drill, screws, wooden handles and paint or varnish in the color you prefer.

First we must pay attention to the model below with the marks and orientations for cutting the wood, since with one piece of pallet we will be able to make 2 shelves.

First use the saw to cut the pallet and separate it into 3 parts that will be: shelf number 1, shelf number 2, base of shelf 1 and base of shelf 2.

After cutting the parts, use the middle part to separate 2 boards from the pallet and set aside, use a hammer and a crowbar to remove the nails.

Preparation

With the parts separated, we must sand the wood, this stage is very important to eliminate all the splinters and worn parts and also leave the wood cleaner.

With the wood sanded and clean, we must apply a varnish or paint of our choice on all the parts that make up the shelf, that is, two sets of shelves and two bases.

Choose a varnish or paint color that matches the rest of the furniture where you hang the shelf. Do the same with wooden handles

Assembly

With the pieces already painted and dry, it is time to assemble our shelf. This stage is very simple, just lay out the boards that will serve as a base at the bottom of each shelf.

Screw the boards into the base of the shelf pieces on both sides, thus forming the bottom of them. Also take the opportunity to screw the handles on the front of the shelf, use 4 or more of them, as you prefer, they can be used to hang extra objects when the shelf is ready.

The result

Ready! This is the result, a very versatile shelf that does not take up much space and where you can organize your child's comic books and school supplies.
