Cardboard Stand for Easy Drawing with the Phone, the principle is that the image of your phone screen is partially reflected in transparent plastic (for example, the CD cover). So when you look from above, you can see that the mirror image appears "on the paper."
Step 1: Materials and tools
Materials:
- Cardboard
- Old CD cover (or maybe new, it will be clean and without scratches)
Tools:
- Paper knife
- Pen
- Cutting board (it is better not to cut directly on the table;)
Step 2: Cut the cardboard support
In this step, cut 2 identical cardboard support shapes according to the attached pattern.
If you prefer, instead of drawing, you can print.
The last image in this step is the scan of this item, if you just print it on A4 it will be a good guide.
The dimensions in cm are also shown there, so it should be easy to check if the scale fits.
The angle to insert the transparent plastic is important to have a flat rear reflection of the image.
I evaluated that angle manually, just looking at the image while holding the CD cover in my hand.
After seeing a nice flat reflection, I marked a line on the cardboard and cut it to permanently insert the CD cover.
Step 3: Cut one or two for the support
As before, just take one or two pieces of cardboard (length as the CD cover, width as half) and cut rows to insert the printed cardboards in step 2.
It's hard for me to write, but look at the picture 🙂
Step 4: Assemble and… It's done!
Assemble all the pieces together, as in the photo.
Now just two notes for your phone:
- Set the brightness to maximum (maybe later, adjust it)
- Screen rotation lock.
Keep in mind that the image you see "on the paper" is mirrored. If it's important to you, do a reflection on the phone. There are programs to do it, but for me it is not important.
Last comment, it's easier to draw if you put paper in something like a book. Just to have it higher or closer. I prefer that, but maybe it's the glasses, I don't know.
