DIY: Jeans with Corset Design, my daughter wanted a pair of jeans that she was not going to spend that amount of money on.
So instead we decided to make them and share this work!
#1: Materials

What you will need is:
- A pair of skinny jeans.
- Tape measure
- Washable marker
- Scissors
- Pins
- 3 yards or more leather eyelet tape.
- 1/4″ elastic or ribbon approximately 6 yards or more again depending on the length of the slit.
#2: Measure and mark

- On the top half of your jeans, measure from the outside seam to the inside seam and make a mark at the center point.
- Repeat for the bottom half.
- Measure with the tape from the top mark to the bottom mark and draw a line with your marker.
- Repeat everything for the other leg.
#3: Cut

Cut carefully along the line being careful not to cut into the back of the pants.
#4: Fixation

- First start this step by measuring your slit. Cut the grommet tape to fit being careful to leave some extra leather on the ends for sewing. See photo 2 in this step.
- Start putting the grommet tape on the pants, align them with the edge of the pants and put them in place.
- Do the same on the other side of the slot making sure the eyelets line up evenly.
- Repeat everything on the other leg.
#5: Sewing

- Using a straight stitch begin sewing the ribbon into place. Be sure to side-stitch the pants seam leaving the raw cut edge open.
- Repeat this on all 4 pieces of tape.
- This part is a little tedious, carefully place the top half of the ribbon on your machine and zig zag stitch to secure it. Repeat at the bottom of the tape and then again on the other leg. Be careful not to sew through the back of your jeans. It will take some maneuvering to get them into the machine and you may need to bunch them up a bit. You can also sew by hand if you wish.
#6: Laces

- Now that you have the buttonhole sewn, you can start tying it. Cut your elastic in half and start at the bottom. If you prefer your bow at the bottom, start at the top and lace.
- Once you are done you will want to sit up and bend your knees up this way you will be able to adjust the tension of the elastic and you will need more in the knee area as seen in the photo.
- When the lace feels comfortable tie a bow. You can secure it with a few stitches on the arch or just leave it in case you want to adjust.
- Cut off the excess and burn the ends so the elastic doesn't fray.
#7: Final touches

Now you have yourself an adorable pair of corset jeans! Whatever your style.
This is the part where they make them unique to you. Add some patches, lace, etc.
