Do It Yourself: Ideas for Reusing Vinyl Records in Decoration that almost everyone has at home, and we generally have several, a true collection of old vinyl records. If we are not collectors, we do not have a real passion for records or the ones we have at home are already scratched and are no longer useful, many times we do not know very well what to do with them.
If you have already thought about playing outside or donating them to someone, wait a little and separate some of them for yourself because after reading this article you will have some very creative and easy ideas to use in decorating your home. Ready to do it yourself?
Auxiliary table and benches:
A practical little table is versatile to leave in the corner of your room, or at the head of your bed. To assemble this element you need a vinyl record and a base to make the feet of the table, which can be the model and the way you want.
In the model below, an old metal cup holder was used and the disc was glued to that same base with hot glue. Very simple, don't you think? You can use your imagination and use what you have at home as a base, recycle an old stool and screw the vinyl onto your own structure for example. To give more firmness, you can stick the vinyl on a wooden plate with the same diameter as the record and attach it to the base. Additionally, if that base is strong enough to support the weight of a person, it will also serve as a stool.

Wall clock:
Another very easy and simple idea is to use vinyl records to make a beautiful wall clock. Use an old clock that you have at home to remove the machine and the hands, the hole in the center of the disc is already the perfect size to fit the clock pieces. Next, you just have to unleash your imagination to decorate it, place the numbers and marks, paint, draw, cover with fabrics. If you want to cut the disc to give a different format, it is also possible using a very hot cutting instrument or by heating the disc previously and cutting with sharp scissors.

Multipurpose containers:
You can also create containers and use them as fruit trees, snack boxes, trailer holders, and pots. The disc material is very malleable when subjected to a heat source, allowing it to be molded before cooling. To mold the disk, take a large cake or pizza shape and place a small round shape on top of it (or whatever format you prefer) to use as a mold, place the centralized disk on that mold and place it in the very hot oven. Pay attention at all times and when the disc begins to soften, remove it from the oven quickly (carefully and use a glove to avoid burning yourself) and invert the position of the small shape that you used as a mold, that is, place the disc inside it, thus achieving the molding in the desired way. Immediately remove the disc from inside the mold, let it cool completely and that's it!

Bring vinyl to your table:
Vinyl records can make incredible tables with a very charming retro touch. Uselike Sousplat and set up a very original and themed table, take advantage of it to decorate parties, receptions and dinners. Don't you like the "natural" look of the album or is that not your style? You can cover the disc with fabrics and glue, see how pretty it turns out, you can have a cushion that matches each style of table you want to set up. Great, don't you think?

Musical glass holder:
Excellent advice to use when you receive friends at home. Enjoy the central part of the record, and the colors of the label with the name of the band or singer that have been successful in the past, to make some original and well-colored cup holders. As we said before, the vinyl record when heated becomes an easy-to-handle surface. Place the disc in the well-heated oven for a few minutes, long enough so that it is possible to cut the central circle with scissors. If in the center of the cut the disc hardens again (it can happen very quickly) put it back in the oven and continue cutting from where you stopped. Very good, don't you think?

You can do much more:
You will love the ideals we show below. The vinyl record allows us to unleash our imagination and come up with many legal and original accessories. Following the same process and using a heat source, you can shape the disc and make magazine holders, a book holder, a wine rack, keys and even light fixtures. Just pick a few of them and you're done! What do you think of the result?
