REOLINK 4K RLK16-800B8 - Best poe security camera system power over ethernet GRANDGOLDMAN.COM

CHECK PRICE:   REOLINK (Discount)   AMAZON

The REOLINK 4K Security Camera System (RLK16-800B8) offers 8MP resolution, providing sharp day and night video clarity. Features include person/vehicle detection, remote access/playback via the Reolink app, easy PoE setup, and continuous 24/7 recording with a pre-installed 4TB HDD (expandable up to 6TB).

  • Pros: 4K Ultra HD, Smart Detection, Remote Access.
  • Con: Limited facial detail for identifying strangers.

Our helpful review

REOLINK 4K Security Camera System, RLK16-800B8 8pcs H.265 PoE Wired with Person Vehicle Detection, 8MP/4K 16CH NVR with 4TB HDD for 24-7 Recording - Best NVR Camera System - grandgoldman.com

No manual included in the box, but you don't need one. Setup is easy and the menu settings are self explanatory. Cameras auto detected about 20 seconds after plugging in the ethernet cable. Cameras are easy to rename from "Camera1" to "Front Yard."

Pros

  • Daytime image quality is good, 4k quality is nowhere near what you would see in a 4K movie on a 4K TV.
  • Nighttime image quality is better than expected. The Infrared Leds really light up the area.
  • To save a segment of the recordings is very easy. Click the scissors icon and save to USB stick.
  • The Smart Detection seems to work pretty well.

Cons

  • Outside, you're not going to read license tags on moving cars. Image blur is too great.
  • Still get occasional false motion detection. I have "no detection areas" where plant or tree movement could affect detection.
  • You're not going to be able to identify a stranger for law enforcement. Just not enough facial detail.
  • Image detail is crunchy like it's been over sharpened.
  • The built-in fan is noisy. With a sound meter, the room where the NVR is located, the ambient sound level is 41db. Six inches away from the front panel of the NVR the sound level is 54db. That's louder than a whisper.

Exporting to the USB stick is only Fat32 which limits the size to less than 4gb. I format most of my USB sticks to Exfat which does not work with the NVR. Had to reformat a stick to Fat32 just for the NVR. Overall super solid system, easy to setup and handle.

Lorex Fusion 4K Security Camera System w 2TB NVR - 8 Channel PoE Wired Home Security w 8 Metal Cameras - Motion Detection, Active Deterrence, 2-Way Audio, Color Night Vision, Weatherproof Surveillance - Best NVR Camera System - grandgoldman.com

We got this system after someone tried to steal the Air Conditioner beside the house. The hardest part was pulling the cable thru the attic. I had to use a few custom length cables for cameras further away than the supplied cables would reach. All in all they work great. I had to adjust the resolution on most of the Cameras away from 4K because it used up the memory too fast.

The Motion detection works but is quite annoying because it triggers on everything, even a spider, so I disabled that feature. When I connected everything and turned it on it basically set itself up. I would buy it again. A few months in and everything is working great.

My wife and I were recently introduced to Reolink camera systems and are now major fans. The camera quality is phenomenal and the NVR system is easy to set up. The cords that were included with the kit were plenty long enough. 10/10 would and have recommended this system.

Even the night vision has great range. Our previous system had very low quality at night and even during the day. You could tell a person was there but not really who it was. With Reolink, you can see every feature and even use the two way voice communication to speak with them.

After 3 years of using this system, I am ready to share my opinion.

First, the cameras are unbelievably clear. You can zoom in and count the pimps on the neighbors kid’s face about 30’ away. I have the 4 camera setup. I should’ve gotten the 8. Customer service through the app is great! The app is a little hard to navigate but “Jar” was great. He helped me reboot the system & reconfigure my app.

I can only speak to the system I bought 3 years ago. My cameras did not differentiate between human & animal. So any movement & you’ll get a notification. Again for my system I have to update it using a desktop & a usb drive. Also, my system interface on the DVR is cumbersome. Setup is quite tedious. But like I said, Jar from customer service was a great help. Oh & we used the footage in court for an incident, and we won.

Learn ho to use the system  to maximize your experience! You can easily view the whole clip or ONLY motion activity. LOVE THE SYSTEM ☺️

Here is my take on this security camera system.

The good:

  • System software is very user friendly.
  • BEST quality OUT THERE, material appears to be from top of the line.
  • So many settings for your everyday needs.

The bad (What it needs to , to be a 5 stars product)

  • Pack duration needs to be reduced, current (30, 45 or 60 minutes it's too long) !!!!!
  • System & cameras will need to be updated manually (USB). System will claim is up-to-date but it's NOT.
  • I had to upgrade to a 4TB ssd to optimize performance. (Low temps, super fast data processing).
  • System has no internal fan, (with SSD upgrade, temps will be legit cold) .
  • RJ45 cables HAVE NO labels : it appears they are CAT5 🤦🏿‍♂️ (cheap made), I upgraded to cat6.

After those upgrades: system is beyond incredible. Fast, reliable and it just perform better. There is no lag or buffer.

We are very impressed with the resolution of the camera images and the low-light capabilities. We have experienced no interference or ghosting on the camera images. 9. Ring Stick Up Cam Elite - Best Indoor Camera

Ring Stick Up Cam Elite

CHECK PRICE  |  VIEW RATINGS

The Ring Stick Up Cam Elite is a Power over Ethernet (PoE) HD security camera that provides reliable, nonstop power. With two-way talk, night vision, and Alexa integration, it offers versatile home monitoring. The camera is suitable for indoor or outdoor use, with easy placement options.

  • Pros: PoE for continuous power and a wide field of view.
  • Cons: Relatively high price.

Our helpful review

This is the first cam I should've bought and not wasted time with the stick up cam wired one. Sure it's the more expensive one but you get what you pay for.

The elite version has slightly upgraded hardware and POE (power over ethernet). The POE works awesome and bringing up live view is super fast (even faster if you use rapid ring app but they really should rather focus on the main ring app to make that the same speed!). I also really love the mount it comes with and this should be standard with the stick up cam wired one.

Ring Stick Up Cam Elite, Power over Ethernet HD Security Camera with Two-Way Talk, Night Vision, Works with Alexa - White - Best NVR Camera Systems - grandgoldman.com

One of the best reasons to get the elite is for the much wider field of view compared to the stick up cam wired/battery version. Another is the fact that you can do the motion trigger zones. With the stick up cam wired/battery you cannot select specific areas and have to rely on turning off 3 sensors that you cannot customize in any way. That alone was terrible. I like to be able to select specific areas to monitor instead of the entire line of view.

The view quality is really clear, sharp and vivid; just what you need for a nice 1080p video/liveview. Another area that the elite version rocks in is the color night vision. Only the in door cam and elite have the color night vision. I really am not sure who is designing these cameras and only giving it to these models.

I had zero issues setting up the elite and it's been running flawless. The motion triggers are ultra fast and super nice. I also like the fact that you can select people only mode if you want to have it trigger on humans only. I rather not mess with that feature and leave the zones to do their job. And oh, get the black color. It is super sleek looking and less visible at night.

The zowietek Pro PTZ Camera NDI | HX 30X offers a high-definition image with a 1920x1080 resolution and 60 fps frame rate. Its leading auto-focus technology ensures fast and stable focusing, while low noise and high SNR contribute to clear video. The camera supports multiple video outputs (HDMI, 3G-SDI, LAN) and operates quietly with precise movements. One con is reported in customer reviews, mentioning potential image quality issues at maximum zoom.

  • Pros: High-definition image with leading auto-focus technology, Multiple video outputs for versatile connectivity.
  • Cons: Potential image quality issues at maximum zoom.

Our helpful review

For now, and without having used it intensively, it seems very promising. Checking the camera after fixed installation in a church:

I was pleasantly surprised by the precision of the PTZ motors. They are also very quiet. The optics give a very good zoom. Focusing is very fast although, if there is not much light, it tends to focus and defocus only every five or six seconds.

What I liked most was the behavior of the NDI-HX technology in this camera, with negligible latency despite being on a network shared with other services (including surveillance services) of the church. This camera has a quite good quality-price ratio. I'm already thinking about the next three units I'm going to buy.

SD card recording isn’t supported yet but the recording to homebase works great.

Pros: 24/7 recording, video quality, AI detection, and no monthly subscription fee.

Cons: When setting up the cameras there is an SD card slot in the back. If you insert an SD card the camera won't function. I thought the SD card would be for recording backup if the connection to the home base failed. Turns out Eufy hasn’t yet added the feature. Support was great to help me with this and explain the reasons for the decision to use Home base. Great experience from eufy.

When to Consider a NVR Camera System

A NVR camera system is a valuable investment for anyone who wants to enhance their home or business security. Here are some specific scenarios where a NVR system can be particularly beneficial.

  • Protecting your home or business from burglaries: A NVR system can deter burglars by making them aware that they are being monitored and recorded. Additionally, the recorded footage can be used to identify and prosecute criminals.
  • Monitoring employee activity: If you have a business, an NVR system can be used to monitor employee activity and ensure that they are following company policies. This can help to reduce theft, fraud, and other workplace misconduct.
  • Keeping an eye on children and pets: If you have young children or pets, an NVR system can be used to keep an eye on them even when you're not home. This can help to prevent accidents and ensure their safety.
  • Documenting accidents and incidents: An NVR system can be used to record accidents and incidents that occur on your property. This footage can be used for insurance claims or to identify the cause of the incident.

How to Choose a NVR Camera System

Choosing the right NVR camera system for your needs can be a daunting task. However, by following these guidelines, you can narrow down your options and make an informed decision.

1. Determine your number of cameras

The number of cameras you need will depend on the size of your property and the areas you want to monitor. Most NVRs can support up to 32 cameras, but some higher-end models can support more.

2. Consider your resolution requirements

Higher resolution cameras will provide clearer images, but they will also require more bandwidth and storage space. If you want to be able to zoom in on the footage and identify details, then you will need to choose higher resolution cameras.

3. Evaluate your storage needs

The amount of storage you need will depend on how long you want to keep your footage. Most NVRs come with one or two hard drives, but you may need to purchase additional hard drives if you want to store footage for more than a few weeks or months.

4. Decide on your features

Some NVRs offer advanced features such as motion detection, facial recognition, and remote access. If you need these features, be sure to select an NVR that supports them.

5. Set a budget

NVRs can range in price from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. Set a budget before you start shopping so that you can narrow down your options.

6. Read reviews

Before you make a purchase, be sure to read reviews of different NVRs. This will help you get an idea of the pros and cons of each model and make an informed decision.

7. Consider the customer support

If you have any questions or problems with your NVR, you will need to be able to get assistance from the manufacturer. Make sure to choose an NVR from a company that has a good reputation for customer support.

By following these guidelines, you will choose the NVR camera system that is right for your needs and budget. With a quality NVR system, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that your home or business is well-protected.

Best Network Video Recording Camera Systems (NVR): FAQ

What is the best NVR on the market?

Some of the top-rated NVRs on the market include the LOREX Fusion 4K, the Amcrest NV4108-A2 4K 8CH NVR, and the Reolink RLK8-410B4. Ultimately, the best NVR for you will depend on your specific needs and budget.

Which system is better NVR or DVR?

NVRs are generally considered to be a more advanced and versatile option than DVRs. NVRs can support a wider range of IP cameras, offer higher resolutions, and provide more advanced features such as motion detection and remote access.

How do I choose the right NVR?

When choosing an NVR, you will need to consider the following factors:

  • Number of cameras: The number of cameras you need will determine the capacity of the NVR you need.
  • Resolution: Higher resolution cameras will provide clearer images, but they will also require more bandwidth and storage space.
  • Features: Some NVRs offer advanced features such as motion detection, facial recognition, and remote access.
  • Budget: NVRs can range in price from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars.

What is the difference between NVR and IP camera?

An IP camera is a network-connected camera that sends its video footage over a network cable or wirelessly. An NVR is a device that connects to and records video from IP cameras.

What is the lifespan of NVR?

The lifespan of an NVR will depend on its quality and how it is used. With proper care, an NVR can last for several years.

What are the 2 types of NVR?

There are two main types of NVR: tower and rackmount. Tower NVRs are desktop devices, while rackmount NVRs are designed to be mounted in a rack.

Do I really need an NVR?

If you want to have a reliable and advanced surveillance system, then yes, you will need an NVR. NVRs provide several advantages over standalone cameras, such as:

  • Centralized storage: NVRs store video footage from multiple cameras in one location, making it easy to view and manage.
  • Remote access: NVRs are typically accessible over the internet, allowing you to monitor your surveillance footage from anywhere.
  • Advanced features: NVRs often offer advanced features such as motion detection and facial recognition.

What is the difference between NVR and PoE NVR?

PoE (Power over Ethernet) NVRs are NVRs that can deliver power to IP cameras over the same Ethernet cables that carry video footage. This eliminates the need for separate power cords for each camera, making installation easier.

Where is the best place to put the NVR at home?

The best place to put an NVR at home is in a secure and centrally located location. This will make it easy to access and manage the NVR, and it will also protect it from potential theft or damage.

How many cameras can you put on a NVR?

The number of cameras you can put on an NVR will depend on the capacity of the NVR. Most NVRs can support up to 32 cameras, but some higher-end models can support more.

Why choose NVR over DVR?

NVRs are generally considered to be a more advanced and versatile option than DVRs. NVRs can support a wider range of IP cameras, offer higher resolutions, and provide more advanced features such as motion detection and remote access.

Does NVR work without internet?

NVRs can be configured to work without internet access, but this will limit their functionality. You will not be able to view your surveillance footage remotely, and you may not be able to receive alerts for motion detection or other events.

Do I need a NVR for security cameras?
