It also locks itself automatically after a specific seconds or minutes you choose. It has a cam that also sends notification to your phone when there is a human activity in front of your door. You can see and talk with the person at the door using the app, and there is a doorbell as well.

The instructions in the box plus an installation video that popped up on my phone when I scanned a barcode in the user manual made this a rather easy installation process. I replaced a basic mechanical Schlage deadbolt lock, so the holes were already there.
I like the many features such as assigning temp access codes, auto-locking after a specified time, being able to control and configure everything via the free Schlage Home app and various other things. Now our house-sitter won't lock herself out of the house again when we are away on vacation. It has a BHMA Grade 1 rating, according to the specifications sheet, which is considered the best of the best in locks.
You can create from 4-8 digit access codes and store up to 100 different codes via the app. I also like that it is WiFi compatible right out of the box and it doesn't require an aftermarket hub to connect it through. Mine quickly found and connected directly to my home network router. It only works with 2.4GHz, not 5GHz. Not a big deal with me, I have both. It is Android and iPhone compatible, works with Alexa, Google Assist and my Ring security camera app.
So far, I haven't found anything that I do not like about this Schlage Encode. After slightly more than two months since I installed this it still shows 88% battery life in the app with WiFi enabled the entire time. It looks nice, too. I will update my review if something changes.

- If the battery life on yours is short, make sure that the lock bolt does not bind. There should be no extra friction when you manually operate the lock via the lever, whether you do that with the door open or closed.
- If you cannot see the keypad numbers at night, press the Home button in the bottom left corner of the keypad to wake it up and then you can enter the access code.

I did a lot of work before selecting a new smart lock to replace what the developer put into 1,000 houses here. Mine went bad the moment I moved in. Most of the rest of the community still have no idea how to use them or connect them to one system. Everything the developer chose was based upon cost, not use. I went down to Lowes to have duplicate keys made. They had a sign up saying they now make fobs too. However, they had no blank keys to cut for this type of lock. And their dib machine could not read my fob. That tells me the depth of the security for this lock. Very Impressive! No one else will be able to make duplicates either! Something about bank level encryption being used.
This lock also tells me when it is locked or when it is unlocked. That is very comforting to know as I walk out the door.

I got this to replace my existing and non functional smart lock. The dimensions were very similar so I didn’t have to make any holes in the door or the frame which made the installation very easy and in under 15 minutes.
The app and the keypad work really well and haven’t had any issues so far. I also love that the door auto locks in under a minute and is customizable so I never have to worry at night if my door is unlocked and if it is, I can just lock it from the app or ask Alexa to lock my door.
I wish this was available in more colors and the black looks a bit odd on my cream colored door but the keypad looks pretty cool and matches with my doorbell so I am happy with it.

Pretty easy to install. Requires a 2 1/8" bore hole and I happened to have a 1 3/4" one so had to bore that out. Setup instructions are easy. Tied to a google home setup and that works very well. Would love to open the lock with my Apple Watch but this requires setting up the Yale app and I just could not get that to work at all.
A nice feature is that you can have different codes for different people and then you can log who opened the lock when. There's also a very useful alert if the door fails to lock (for example if you don't fully close the door on your way out). The delay for automatic locking can only be 10 seconds or 1 minute. A 20 or 30 second option would be helpful as 10 seconds is too short and 1 minute is way too long.
