Compensation? Possibly in exceptional cases

In September 2024, the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) sentenced an airline to pay compensation because it had only offered its own flights as alternative transport to a passenger (ref.:X ZR 109/23). The European Court of Justice (ECJ) had already made a similar decision in another case in 2020 (Case: C-74/19).
