Stray cats are cats too.

Stray cats are those cats that have been abandoned by their previous owners and they spend their days and nights all by themselves on the streets or wherever they feel somewhat secure. Although, a stray is never certain about complete safety and that’s not just because of a possible predator hunting it down, but they are also health-related concerns because there is no one to look after a stray cat the way there is to look after an adopted one. Because they are abandoned and left out to rot, their confidence in humans also drops, their trust shatters, and they become touched. That means, they will never let a human near them because they fear someone similar would happen again.

Yes, there are bad people on this planet and they will continue to exist till god knows when, but that doesn’t mean there are no good people. Imagine how happy these stray cats would feel if they felt they are actually cared for. And no you don’t have to do big things like rescuing them all, getting them treated, and finding a home for each cat. Small efforts often have the most significant impacts and Japanese photographer Masayuki Oki did just that.

As we know, our cute kitties love attention so why don’t the strays deserve it? They absolutely do and Oku decided to provide them with all of it. He went on a journey to find stray cats and took amazing photographs of them. Just so the world knows stray cats are cats too and they too have a heart.

No doubt these images are super mind-blowing and the credit goes directly to the photographer’s amazing skills and imagination, and of course, you have to give some credit to the cats for involvement. This brings me to my favorite thing about these pictures, all the cats I have seen so far look like they know they are being photographed and they all look so involved in the process. As you know, perfection requires effort from both ends and this is a perfect example of that.

And my second favorite thing about these images, which I hope you guys felt too, is there is no way anyone can tell these are stray cats or rescued cats, or adopted cats. Without reading this heading or this text, you just can’t. And that’s how it is supposed to be. We are not supposed to differentiate as I touched upon earlier. All cats deserve equal love, care, and attention. Because there is no reason to create an unequal environment. Every single cat on this planet wants to shower love on its human once that inseparable bond forms between the two. So who gave us the right to not care as much about a stray as we do for our adopted cat? Maybe that adopted feline was once a stray.

I hope these cats get rescued as soon as possible. Ultimately I pray all these cats that we have seen and the cats we are about to see find their homes where they start a new chapter of their lives. A chapter that they deserved to have started long ago.
