Relationships necessitate compromise on the part of both parties.

Relationships aren’t always filled with rainbows and unicorns. Even if movies depict a happy ever after, real life is very different. After all, life goes on even after the two leads meet. And the true test of a relationship comes later. Even if you believe you know your partner extremely well, there will be things that surprise you. While these are usually things that make you fall even more in love with them, there are times when you realise that getting with them was the wrong decision.

There could be several reasons for this, ranging from realising they are only using you to them not caring about you. The former is what is occurring in this instance. We can tell right away that this guy is extremely cheap. And, while I understand not wanting to waste money, the way he handled the situation was flawed on multiple levels. And, while this may have harmed his girlfriend in the short term, she will be better off in the long run.

She had been with him for two years but kept ignoring his behaviour.

Things finally hit the breaking point when he got angry with her when she asked him to pay for his own food and drinks.

He then continued to ignore her and they got into a huge argument which culminated in her telling him that they should pay for themselves from now on.

So she decided to put this into practice and asked for money whenever their kids needed something.

He was clearly not having any of this and used to treat her like a maid and that is how they ended up separating.

I always believe that both partners in a relationship should contribute equally, whether monetary or otherwise. It’s nice to spoil your significant other once in a while, but you shouldn’t be the only one doing all of the work in the relationship; they should, too. And it’s not like he didn’t have the money and she humiliated him. Instead of letting go, he yelled at her and generally embarrassed himself. I’m glad she recognised his true colours and stood firm. He eventually realised he couldn’t take advantage of her any longer, and they split up. This relationship was never going to work, and she is better off without him.

If he had paid for those beers, she might never have realized his true colours.

The poster of this story is doing really well now and is happy that she moved on from him.

Not only that but he was also fine driving while drunk which is way worse than everything else he has done.

She definitely survived that horrible user and I am glad that she is doing better now.
