Top Magic and Comedy Acts at Edinburgh Fringe 2026

Magic lovers will be thrilled by Ben Hart: The Labyrinth, running until 30 August at the Palais du Variété. Hart's ever-surprising shows blend sleight of hand, mind reading, and card trickery, making him a perennial crowd-pleaser. His skill is so refined that even skeptics are won over, proving that magic remains a vibrant art form.

For comedy, Kirsty Mann: Corpse brings a darkly funny one-woman horror story to Summerhall. After winning best theatre at Adelaide Fringe, Mann recounts buying a house with a ghostly resident. This real-life tale is both deliciously disturbing and laugh-out-loud funny, making it a must-see for fans of unconventional storytelling.

Another standout is Ayo Adenekan: Homeland Insecurity at Monkey Barrel Comedy. Following his sellout debut, the Scottish comic and SNL writer delivers a 'romantic hour' of sharp observations about summer romances and messy endings. His finely crafted jokes resonate with anyone who has chased a dream and faced the fallout.

Unique Performances: Campitalism and Dee Allum

For a fresh take on finance, Campitalism: Three Gays Try to Fix the Economy offers a drag-satire debut from BOY Theatre. Three financially illiterate LGBTQ+ performers demystify money with camp humor, creating a show that's both educational and entertaining. It's the perfect pick for those who want their comedy with a side of social commentary.

Meanwhile, Dee Allum: Raumdeuter tackles the World Cup and the trans experience in a follow-up to her acclaimed debut. Allum's thoughtful exploration of identity and national pride raises poignant questions about belonging, all wrapped in her signature wit. It's a show that lingers long after the final punchline.

Palestinian Circus and Kinky Hamlet: Festival Highlights

This year's fringe also features a Palestinian circus that blends traditional acrobatics with contemporary storytelling, offering a powerful cultural narrative. Meanwhile, a 'kinky Hamlet' reimagines Shakespeare's tragedy with bold, provocative staging, challenging audiences to see the classic in a new light. These performances exemplify the festival's commitment to diverse and daring art.

Other notable acts include Demi Adejuyigbe Sells Out, where the comedian attempts to become famous in real-time, and Kwami Odoom and Jack Henry: Support Group, a standup hour exploring fatherhood and queer identity. Lizzy Hoo: Says Hoo? rounds out the lineup with her sharp, relatable humor.
