Easily modernize your walls with this method, color psychology recommends tones or intensities for each area of the house, but that does not mean in any case that we cannot use more than one color in each of our spaces.
That's what this project is about, teaching how to combine and balance two facing walls, using a striking color and a neutral one, and establishing a bedroom as a context, the place where we must be most careful when combining.

Tools to use:
- Brush
- Roller
- Paint tray
Materials to use:
- 50mm masking tape
- Matte water-based enamel
The execution of this project involves considering the size of the surfaces that we will paint, since it is about finding the balance in the combination of colors and for that we must estimate the size of the walls and the intensity of the tones with which they will be painted.
One way to achieve this balance is to use the “60 – 30 – 10” rule, which refers to the percentage presence of each tone.
1 Determine the colors
- To achieve balance in the combination, you should choose a predominant and striking color, which is not necessarily the one that takes up the most space. In this case, for this bedroom, we chose “light mahogany” from the Kolor pantonera as the main color.
- The other tone has to be neutral and allow integration with the rest of the space, contributing to the harmony and unity of the colors. In this case a gray color was chosen.
- The rest of the colors are provided by the decoration, and they are what give balance to this combination of tones, very important for balance. In this case it was decided to use decoration and textiles in raw tones.

2 Mask
- In this case we use a 50 mm to paint comfortably. We masked the window, as well as the dust cover and the sides that border the other walls of the space.
- We only use masking tape for this procedure because at the end of the job, when we remove it, it will come off easily and will not leave glue residue on the wall.

3 Pint
- The painting process included a brush to “trim”, that is, to cover the most complicated parts for the roller.
- We apply two coats of water-based enamel with a matte finish.

4 decorate
- The neutrality of the ecru color in the decoration helps to enhance the bologna, avoiding any contrast that could be annoying for the eyes of the occupant of the house, especially if it is a bedroom.
