Step by step on how to install a built-in dishwasher
Dishwashers can be built-in or surface-mounted. The difference is that the built-in ones do not have contact with the wall, they are only embedded in the cover, while the built-in ones have a tab that is fixed to the wall. Dishwashers have a tub and a drainer, they can be 1 or 2 tubs and 1 drainer or without any, in this case the dishes are dried on the countertop. Countertop dishwashers have holes made for the faucet, but built-in dishwashers must be made according to the type of faucet and its location.

Before You Begin
When installing the dishwasher cabinet, the holes must be drilled with a cup drill to allow the pipes and pipes necessary for the installation and operation of the dishwasher to pass through.
If you are remodeling the kitchen furniture and its covers, before starting to install the dishwasher, you must cut and fix the rest of the covers and leave the one that will have the built-in dishwasher until last. Make a hole in the dishwasher for the faucet. This hole can be made in the store, in the hallway where the dishwashers are. The procedure is to define the exact location of the single-lever or monoblock faucet, and with receipt in hand ask the salesperson in the aisle to drill it. A manually operated metal punch is used for this.
#1. Mark outline on the cover
- Place the dishwasher upside down on the cover and mark its outline. Leave a margin of 12 cm with the edge of the side and center it on the cover.

- Measure the marked distances and transfer them to the back of the cover, since the cut begins with the pressed wood and not on the formalite side.

#2. Cut the cover
- Using the drill and wood drill bit, drill a corner of the marked space.
- Put the jig saw blade through that hole and cut the space to fit the dishwasher tub.

Jigsaw
This tool is perfect for making curved and openwork cuts. Its saw blade can be adjusted according to the thickness of the wood being cut, in addition to changing according to the material you are working with (wood, metal, aluminum, PVC, iron).

Recommendations
When cutting with a jigsaw you must wear safety glasses
in case a splinter jumps and a mask due to the dust.

#3. Install cover
- Using cold glue, glue the cover, which has the opening for the dishwasher, to the rest of the surfaces of the kitchen furniture.
- Fix the cover to the furniture, screwing the plastic brackets from below.

#4. Put drain and overflow
- Before putting the dishwasher on the cover, you must put the tube thatand start the drain, overflow and screw the drain grate.

#5. Put drain and overflow
- With the dishwasher still turned upside down, connect the overflow hose to the drain.

Siphon
Siphons are placed in the drainage system to mainly prevent bad odors from the pipes from rising into the house. Likewise, they prevent a good part of the waste that sneaks in through the dishwasher or other sanitary appliances from reaching the pipes. The siphons come in a kit with all the nuts and rubber seals necessary for installation.

#6. Connect siphon
- Screw the first nut of the siphon into the drain, then a tube and then the siphon receptacle.
- Each nut has a rubber that seals the joints so that water does not leak.

#7. Fix dishwasher
- Place a bead of neutral silicone on the openwork edge of the cover, where the cover will be recessed.
- Place the dishwasher and fix, with small screws, the tab of the dishwasher to the furniture from below.

#8. Drain pipe
- To connect the siphon to the drain hole in the floor, a pipe must be installed.
- This tube is attached to the siphon with a rubber seal and nut (part of the siphon kit).
- At the end of the tube that goes to the floor, a black rubber is placed, thicker than the rest of the seals, which prevents bad odors and water leaks.

Other cases
Depending on the location of the drain hole in the floor, it may be necessary to use 2 pipes, one horizontal that comes out of the trap joined to another vertical that connects to the drain. This union must be made with PVC adhesive.

#9. Install taps and flexibles
- Put the chosen faucet according to the number of holes the dishwasher has.
- Screw the flexible taps to the pipes. To seal any leaks, you can wrap the pipe thread with Teflon.

#10. Install taps and flexibles
- Before finishing, seal the joint of the roof with the wall, using a silicone bead at that joint.
- Run your wet finger along the cord to tune it and improve its finish.
