Installation Guide
Step 1: Design the wall
On the floor, lay out the position of the wall and make chalk lines to mark the edges of the wall. Cut the runner at the edge of the door openings. Secure the runner to the floor, using wood screws when working on a plywood surface.

Step 2: transfer corridor
Transfer the location of the runner to the ceiling by turning a bolt in the floor runner and holding a level against it. Mark the edges of the ceiling stud at each end of the wall, and join the marks with a chalk line.

Step 3: Attach runner
Attach the guide to the ceiling by placing screws in the joists. If the wall runs parallel to the studs, add blocking for a wood wall. If you are installing drywall on the ceiling of the underside of a ceiling truss system, professionals recommend a special flexible channel design that accommodates the potential movement of the truss. Consult your steel structure supplier for more information.

Step 4: Design Stud Placement
Place the post locations on the edge of the bottom track, using a permanent marker and a length of wood that matches the spacing of the posts. Although you could mark the center line of the posts, you'll probably find it less confusing to mark an edge, then mark a quick X where the stud goes. You don't need to mark the top runner. Double check the layout spacing before installing any bolts.

Step 5: Cut Bolts
Cut the asparagus to length if necessary. Insert a bolt into the top and bottom race using a twisting motion. Make sure the open side of all posts is facing the same direction. Align the edge of the bolt with the mark on the floor runner, and secure it with self-locking C-clamp pliers designed for welders. Drive a screw to secure the bolt to the runner.

Step 6: Create a Header
To make a header, cut a length of runner 4 inches longer than the opening. Draw a square line across the netting 2 inches from one end, and another square line across the opposite end to mark the length of the opening.
Cut V-notches in the flanges, aiming for the lines on the band (see box). Fold the runner along the lines and thread a screw through each tab to the kingpin.

Step 7: Make Room for Cabinets
Create a mounting surface for wall cabinets by notching a length of slide and screwing it to the bolt flanges. Consult your cabinet installer to ensure the height of the runner and to alert you that you will need sheet metal screws for installation.

Step 8: Add Wood and Washers
Add solid wood or plywood blocking to simplify the installation of baseboards, crown molding, shelves and accessories such as towel bars
Next, fit the plastic washers onto the punches to prevent the sharp edges of the bolt from cutting into the insulation of the electrical wires. Alternatively, consider shielded cable or conduit.

Step 9: Add Grommets
Place plastic eyelets on the punches to prevent the sharp edges of the bolt from cutting the insulation of the electrical wires. Alternatively, consider shielded cable or conduit. Washers prevent metal-to-metal contact with water pipes, an electrolysis situation that can corrode pipes and bolts. If you can't find washers, improvise with lengths of foam pipe insulation.

Step 10: Install Drywall
Install the drywall by placing type S threaded screws into the studs. For best results, place the screws along one bolt before moving on to the next. Always work toward the open C shape of the posts.
