Parametric Scandinavian Design TV Rack Console, I designed this TV rack console to keep all peripherals out of sight.
Most of the things that go in there require ventilation and infrared remote connectivity, hence the open/grilled design that eliminates the need for handles as well.
Design TV Rack Console

It doesn't require much experience, but I certainly recommend building smaller things first to get comfortable. using carpentry tools if you decide to build one yourself.
Step 1: Initial 3D design

I wanted it to be simple with one important design feature: the curve pattern that appears as a kind of illusion.
I used Rhino and Grasshopper to 3D model the console.
The entire shape is generated using 4 curves and those curves are controlled with 4 points each.
I was originally planning to use walnut, but I thought a lighter tone wood would improve the curvature. I ended up going with poplar which I'm glad I did.
Great wood to work with, affordable and looks good if you avoid buying green stuff.
Step 2: Make the front panels

I printed templates for each slat and cut them with the band saw. Then I made some spacers to help with the glue.
Each panel is made of 16 slats and there are three panels.
Step 3: Building the Box

I used a wood jointer to help align the two 7-inch boards while edge gluing them to reach the 14-inch depth.
He did this for all 4 sides of the box.
I used Rabbet joints for the corners of the box. I added two middle supports using dice.
Step 4: Fit Test

Try clamping the front panels into the case for fine adjustments.
Step 5: Making the legs

The legs are designed to match the sharp, faceted edges of the rest of the console.
It is an octagon on the top and a square on the bottom.
The 90 degree sides have a constant width of 3/4".
Step 6: Testing in place after installing all panels and fine sanding

Sanded to approximately 200 grit before mounting the 3 panels using Non-Mortise Hinges.
It's not the easiest to align the panels perfectly with these types of hinges, but it worked after a few tries.
Step 7: Surface Finish

Seal the wood with thin lacquer (a coat of 3/4 Shellac + 1/4 denatured alcohol). This step is necessary when using certain species of wood that are known to have stains.
Then I used 4 coats of Polyurethane while lightly sanding between each coat.
I placed a black shelf liner on the inside which helped hide what's inside.
Step 8: Lighting

Finally, I installed LED strip lights, which turned the TV console into a flashlight. When we watch a movie, we now turn off all the lights except the "flashlight"
