Sacar Window Anti-Burglary Device Installation Guide 2026

Burglars are constantly refining their methods to break into homes. A common technique involves drilling into the window frame, inserting a rotating metal rod, and leveraging the handle to open the window—all in about 25 seconds. However, by installing anti-burglary devices like the Sacar Two snap-on safety locks, you can significantly reduce the risk of break-ins. These devices are simple to use and easy to install on your own.

Two Finishes

The Sacar safety locks are available in two different finishes to suit your specific needs: polished brass (1) and chrome brass (2).

On the back (3), you can clearly see the recess for the spindle (7 mm section, easily adaptable to 9 mm with a slight filing). For spindles with a section smaller than 7 mm, a reducer is required.

Easy Installation

Start by loosening the screws that hold the handle cover plate in place with a screwdriver, then carefully remove the entire mechanism.

Before proceeding, measure the spindle section of your window handle with a caliper to determine if you need to slightly file the safety lock recess or insert an appropriate reducer.

Attach the safety lock by sliding it onto the handle spindle until it stops against the cover plate.

Reinstall the handle, now equipped with the safety device, back onto the window frame.

For a complete home improvement solution, consider pairing these locks with other security upgrades. Frequently Asked Questions

How do Sacar anti-burglary locks work?

These snap-on safety locks attach to the handle spindle, preventing burglars from using tools to rotate the handle from outside. They are designed to block common drilling and leverage techniques.

Can I install these locks on any window?

Sacar locks are suitable for most standard window handles with a 7 mm or 9 mm spindle. For smaller spindles, a reducer is needed. Always measure your handle spindle before purchasing.

Do I need special tools for installation?

No special tools are required. You only need a screwdriver to remove the handle cover plate and a caliper to measure the spindle. A small file may be needed to adapt the lock to a 9 mm spindle.

Are these locks visible from outside?

Yes, the locks are mounted on the interior side of the handle, making them discreet but visible as a deterrent. They do not alter the exterior appearance of your windows.

Can I use these locks on sliding windows?

Sacar locks are designed for casement windows with handles. For sliding windows, consider other security options like window bars or locks from our home improvement collection.
