1. Prepare the furniture

The first step to transform this coffee table is to remove the parts of the furniture that do not allow you to work comfortably, such as handles and drawers.

While you're at it, prepare the wood for painting. The process will depend on the type of product you use and its coverage. For example, some paints require the wood to be removed or some type of primer to be applied before application. In this case, the agents used can be applied directly to various surfaces without prior preparation, so only sanding is required.

Let's do it! Sand the entire surface of the furniture, including the previously removed drawers. When you're done, wipe away any dust or dirt and you're ready to paint.

2. Paint the table with a glitter effect

To decorate this side table, we combined two different products: the legs in black hammered metal effect and the rest of the structure in white with glitter. As we always say, if you like it, copy the color!

The glitter polish we used is from Libéron, a product that can be applied to a variety of materials including wood and melamine or metal. In addition, it is ideal for furniture for daily use as it is resistant to impacts and stains.

To paint, apply masking tape to mark areas of each color. Remember: the drawers and bottom are glossy white, the legs are hammered black 🙂

Use a brush to work on harder areas like corners or seams first, then paint the rest of the surface.

3. Paint the legs

It's time to paint the legs. For this we use a very cool metallic effect in the color of the forging.

To apply it, remove the masking tape you applied earlier and reapply it, making sure not to paint over the white areas this time. Using a putty knife or fine brush, paint harder areas and finishes on larger surfaces first. When you're done, let it dry.

4. Apply a second coat

Once everything is dry, apply another coat of glitter and metallic effect paint and let it dry again.

5. Decorate the cover with wallpaper

As for the surface of the coffee table, we chose to decorate it with wallpaper in the black and white tones of the painting. You can use your favorite paper 🙂

To apply it, use white glue and spread it evenly over the surface with a spatula. Once the paper is in place, cut off the excess with a cutter.
