Holidaymakers have to dig deeper into their pockets: the Greek Ministry of Culture has increased the entry prices for many archaeological sites, some of them significantly. What applies where now: an overview.
Since April 1st, visits to many antiquities in Greece have cost up to 50 percent more. For example, entry to the country's most important ancient building: To visit the Acropolis in Athens, adults now have to pay 30 euros instead of the previous 20 euros, Greece's Ministry of Culture informs.
After all: those over 65 pay 15 euros and young EU citizens under 25 have free entry if they present their ID card or passport. Tourists from non-EU countries can climb the famous hill with the Parthenon temple for free up to the age of 18.
