4. Playa de Las Teresitas – white beach in the northeast
One of the most famous beaches in Tenerife is called Playa de Las Teresitas and has soft, white sand. This was specially imported from the Sahara, so that you can enjoy a bit of the Caribbean feeling even in Tenerife, which is actually so dark. The beach belongs to the small fishing town of San Andres, which has managed to retain its originality over the years. The contrast to the comfortable beaches of the south is in the northeast of Tenerife. The path to the natural beach Playa de Benijo leads down a long staircase into the bay. The many steps can be seen in the photo below on the right. When you arrive at the beach, in addition to black sand, there is one special feature that is, for many, the main reason for visiting Playa de Benijo. Imposing rock formations rise out of the water, which are actually much larger than they appear in the photo. The rocks were once formed from lava and can only be reached from the water.
