In addition, you have to keep things tidy in the rooms and dormitories - after all, the Zittelhaus has over 80 beds.

There have already been some applications - but there were always arguments that led the applicants to ultimately decide against it. For one couple, it was too boring for the woman, and the season was too short for other potential candidates, says Gerstgraser. This is limited to three months (end of June to end of September). Before that, operation was only possible in good weather. Gerstgraser himself gave up his job at the Zillerhaus when he and his wife had a child. It is definitely too dangerous for them at an altitude of 3,106 meters.
According to “heute”, they currently want to wait about a month before the Alpine Club has to intervene and hire a cook and waiter. Interested parties are therefore encouraged to apply within the next four weeks at the latest.
