Last March, theValbray brandannounced in Basel an agreement with the legendary brand ofLeica photographic opticsto celebrate one hundred years of a brand that has accompanied the work of legendary photographers such as Cartier Bresson or Robert Capa. HeEL1 Chrono by ValbrayIt is an exceptional black and white machine made of grade 5 titanium and with a matte finish. The initials of its name are a tribute to Enrnst Leitz, one of the founders of the Leica brand, a contraction of the words Leitz and Camera.
Valbrayhas opted for a limited and numbered edition of only 100 pieces engraved with the Leica logo on the crown and the phrase100 Years of Leica Photographyon the back. The watch has the shutter systemOculus ValbrayIt acts as a cover for the dial and can be opened and closed by rotating the bezel. This mechanism is built from 16 individual blades integrated into a 46mm rotating bezel simulating a camera shutter. When the shutter is fully open, the blades hide and reveal the chronograph. The hours, minutes and stopwatch function are read when the diaphragm closes.
