Bell&Ross has always stood out for the development of models inspired by aeronautics, and this newVintage Bell&Ross Collectionis not an exception. Like many of its models, this series carries clear military genes in its design, without losing features such as legibility, functionality and precision.
We are looking at the third generation of vintage models, which were originally characterized by a classic dial, rounded lugs and no bezel. Already in its second revision, the case and dial were redesigned with a larger diameter, the presence of a bezel and more angular lugs. Now, in this third one, the design has evolved again, with a more sophisticated look and a somewhat smaller diameter and thickness.
This current collection also presents several innovations with many details that have been redesigned to offer optimal functionality: the pushers are screwed, the crown has a protector and the rounded lugs embrace the new straps more naturally.
The Bell&Ross 2017 Vintage Collection offers various versions
BR V1: smaller, thinner and more elegant
It has a 38.5 mm diameter case that fits all wrists. It has an ultra-domed sapphire crystal, with a retro look, which provides greater comfort and gives it a stylized and authentic appearance. The finishes combine polishing with satin, achieving a refined and elegant appearance.
The dial with a refined graphic of white numbers on a black background offers excellent readability. On the other hand, it stands out for its discreet elegance and refined finishes. The design of the hands evokes the shape of aeronautical counters and the counterweight of the treadmill is the profile of a stylized airplane. A detail that from now on will be present in several of the future Bell & Ross watches.
The BR V2: two sophisticated steel models
These are two models with a 41 mm diameter case, and like the BR V1, they are flatter than the previous generation. This collection is available with a new polished and satin steel bracelet, which gives it a more contemporary and sporty character.
The BR V2-92 has a three-hand mechanism that marks the hours, minutes and seconds. The bidirectional rotating bezel allows you to make several consecutive short-time measurements.
The BR V2-94 features a chronograph caliber. Its graduated bezel with tachymeter scale is fixed. Its screw-down pushers and crown guarantee optimal water-resistance.
Both models have polished and satin finishes, and 316L steel, extremely solid and resistant to oxidation, has been used in both. Like the V1, they come with domed sapphire crystal to obtain finer blades. On the dial, the iconic white on black design appears, making it so easy to read. Finally, one of its needles is the silhouette of an airplane, a new signature of the brand and a nod to the aeronautical and military DNA of Bell & Ross.
The BR V2 offers two bracelet and strap options: one with a leather strap and the other with a steel bracelet. The latter is thinner and has a greater number of links, which makes it more comfortable. It is robust, fits all wrists and is equipped with a safety closure that prevents any accidental opening. The BR V2-92, for its part, has a raw leather strap that gives it a natural and authentic style.
