IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar and IWC Portugieser Automaticare the two new elegant and luxurious models that IWC Schaffhausen has just launched to complete its Portugieser line.
The first of them,IWC Portugieser with Perpetual CalendarIt comes in a platinum case, a corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic and very durable material, whose shiny gray color combines perfectly with the silver tone of the dial, indexes and hands. It features an IWC manufacture caliber 52615 with a Pellaton system with ceramic components, a 7-day power reserve and an oscillating weight made of solid 18-karat red gold, all visible through a transparent sapphire crystal caseback.
On the dial, for its part, the Perpetual Calendar can be seen in a mechanism composed of 80 parts that indicates the date, day, month and lunar cycle, as well as the year with four figures. Easily adjustable using the crown, its Perpetual Calendar mechanism identifies different month lengths, changes year automatically and will operate until 2100 without the need for any adjustment. It also features a double moon indication that offers an inverted view of the lunar phases for both the northern and southern hemispheres. Thanks to a reduction mechanism, the indication is so precise that it will only deviate from the current orbit of the Earth satellite after 577.5 years, and it will only be one day.
The second model, theIWC Portugieser AutomaticIt comes in a stainless steel case with a silver dial and rhodium-plated hands. On its dial, the Arabic numerals, the railway minute track and the leaf-shaped hands stand out, and as for its heart, this model features an IWC-manufactured caliber 52010 with a Pellaton winding system with ceramic components, is equipped with an oscillating weight with an 18-karat gold medallion and generates a power reserve of seven days. The black alligator leather strap helps define the sober and elegant style that characterizes the watches of this prestigious IWC Schaffhausen family.
