Because the BR-X2 is characterized by the absence of a box: only two windows – front and rear – and the plate. Perhaps a synthetic definition of a watch could be case-movement-dial, but at Bell&Ross they decided to question classicism, and its creative director, Bruno Belamich, conceived a watch where the movement or caliber merges with the case in a single piece, eliminating the “case” concept and thus allowing the sensation of wearing the movement directly on the wrist.
The BR-CAL.380 manufactured movement, designed and developed by Bell&Ross, presents notable features, such as the one-minute flying tourbillon located at six o'clock, and a micro-rotor (the oscillating mass that charges the winding mechanism) integrated into the plate, allowing a total thickness of 4.05 mm, a thickness that is increased by the two sapphire crystals with anti-reflective treatment that protect it on both sides. And since we cannot talk about “case”, we will say that the size of the watch, based precisely on the movement, is 42.5 mm, in line with the entire BR collection.
The part of the dial of the Bell&Ross BR-X2 micro-rotor is openwork (it does not reach the level of “skeletonized”) and allows you to see, in addition to the tourbillon, part of the mechanism: at nine o'clock the barrel with its mainspring and the wheel that connects it to the micro-rotor would stand out. The indices are applied and follow the shape of the hands. Both are filled with Super-Luminova to make them visible in the dark. The strap is made of gray alligator leather and is accompanied by a steel folding clasp.
The Bell&Ross BR-X2 micro-rotor is presented in a limited series of 99 examples and is offered at a price of €59,000. Like the vast majority of brands, Bell&Ross has decided to open its own e-boutique, so that this and all its models can be purchased directly online.
