Hydro Mechanical Horologists (HYT)presents its new modelH1 Iceberg, a mechanism that is the result of 18 months of research work and will be available in a limited edition of 50 units. Made of titanium with a satin finish, theH1 Iceberg by HYTonce again unites haute horlogerie and fluid mechanics in a true blue, silver and white iceberg that puts the laws of physics into play. The result is a machine that tells the time through two liquid reservoirs on either side of the crown. One of them, filled with fluorescent, the other, with a viscous liquid, only separated by the repulsive force of the molecules that make up each substance. As the hours progress, the fluorescent liquid advances and the crescent-shaped meniscus marks the break with the other fluid, indicating the time. At 18 o'clock, the fluorescent liquid returns to its original position. Two bellows, made of a highly resistant alloy driven by a piston, open the way to horological mechanics since the piston, located in the upper part of the watch, is driven by the mechanical movement designed by Brino Moutarlier, together with Jean-François Mojon and his Chronode SA team. The great challenge of the HYT team was to unite the mechanical movement and the hydraulic system in the same sealed circuit, especially taking into account the small space available. For this, the mechanisms were assembled separately and were modularly integrated.
