In 1965, the first diving watch from Seiko and Japan was manufactured, at that time watches with high levels of water resistance were not common. HeSeiko Prospex SPB081J1It is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Japanese watch that was popularly known by recreational divers, following a trajectory of developing durable, precise and safe diving watches.
The recreation of this classic respects the original design, but its technology and functions are completely updated. It incorporates the caliber 6R15 and meets the rigorous diving watch standards imposed by Seiko. The hands, now wider and with long-lasting Lumibrite, allow perfect readability in low light circumstances. Now, water resistance has been increased to 200 meters and the sapphire crystal, with non-reflective coating, provides greater strength and durability than before.
Inspired by the Coral Sea, the color green has been chosen for the dial of the new modelSeiko Prospex SPB081J1, while the indexes and hands stand out for their white and yellow color, as if it were the sea bathed in the rays of the Sun. A beautiful tribute to the natural marine environment that has marked the development of the Prospex series since its origins.
