Inspired by the Divers Sixty-Five like its predecessor, theOris Carl Brashear Chronograph Limited EditionIt now arrives with a second version also assembled in bronze, a very significant material, since the first diving equipment that Carl Brashear used was also made of this metal.
Because this model, as in its first edition, pays tribute to the charismatic figure of Carl Brashear. This heroic Marine specialized in diving after overcoming racial segregation and had to recover from the amputation of a leg after a rescue mission, after which he graduated as the first African-American diving instructor, already in 1970. His story of improvement was reflected in a wonderful film, 'Men of Honor', played by Cuba Gooding Jr.

A model at the height of the character, since for the elaboration of theOris Carl Brashear Chronograph Limited Editionbronze has been chosen again. The reason is that the patina that this material generates over time gives each watch unique nuances and tones, giving each piece in the edition an original and unrepeatable character. Both the case and the bezel, the crown and the pushers are made with this metal.

As for its heart, it houses the Oris Caliber 771, a special movement with two chronograph counters and a 48-hour power reserve. In addition, a novelty for Oris, it has a Sellita SW 510 base.
On the other hand, theOris Carl Brashear Chronograph Limited EditionIt features a symmetrical and balanced dial, a design known as 'bicompax' and gives the watch its classic chronograph aesthetic, which stands out for lacking a date indication. The counter at 3 o'clock is 30 minutes and the counter at 9 o'clock is a small seconds. Its blue tone combines perfectly with the bronze case, creating a chromatic ensemble with marine reminiscences, a toast to the tones of that ocean in which Brashear immersed himself so often and with such courage. A beautiful and vintage look that is completed with a brown leather strap.

The watch ends its tribute to Carl Brashear with one last detail: the engraving on the stainless steel case back of a traditional diving helmet, accompanied by the famous mantra that the American hero repeated tirelessly: “It is not a sin to be knocked down, it is a sin to stay down”, a sign of his exceptional personality.
