It is inspired by the journey made by a watch that was sold and exported to Russia in 1916 and that in 1917 was sent to Le Locle, headquarters ofTissot. The piece belonged to a British ambassador who lived in Petrograd (Russia) and who decided to send it to the manufacture ofTissotin Switzerland for repair and proper maintenance.
The Swiss brand was never able to return that watch to its owner, since due to the events of the October Revolution of 1917, the import of gold watches into Russia had been restricted. Therefore, theTissot Heritage Banana Centennialwanted to commemorate the journey of the first watch, a hundred years ago.
The watch case is the distinguishing touch of this range of watches, since it is rectangular and has the same “banana” shape as the first edition, which adapts the curve to the wrist of the wearer.
