Motorsports and elegance will meet again in the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza 2016 competition, around the captivating surroundings of Lake Como, with an exclusive prize: theLANGE 1 TIME ZONE ‘Like Edition’. The sponsor of this event, A. Lange & Söhne, has designed a well-guarded gem that will only be discovered at the Concorso. A unique model that due to its exclusivity will not be available for sale. This year, 2016, the event, which will take place from May 20 to 23 in the Lombardy region, and will have as its theme “Back to the future – the journey continues”, consists of eight categories in which impressive classic cars will compete to win over the jury and spectators.
During the process of creating this work of art the emphasis was placed on legibility, thus achieving aLANGE 1 TIME ZONE ‘Like Edition’with an organized and clear dial, something that allows the frequent traveler to read the origin and local time at a glance in a second time zone. This second time zone is selected via a rotating ring with the names of the cities that encompass the 24 time zones and can be conveniently adjusted with a push button.
The prestigious award has been hand-finished and assembled twice, and has a three-day power reserve. Unlike the classic version, the ‘Como Edition’ has two special features: Central European Time on the rotating ring of cities is not represented by Berlin as usual, but by Como in homage to the event site.
To immortalize the event and pay tribute to the competition, theLANGE 1 TIME ZONE ‘Like Edition’It has the inscription 'CONCORSO D'ELEGANZA VILLA D'ESTE' sculpted by free hand, framing the coat of arms of the event and two dates that show the period from the first Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in 1929 to the current one, represented this year 2016.
