After three to five years of collection, the resin becomes a very resistant lacquer with a honeyed consistency, which is applied in successive, extremely thin layers using the Maki-e technique, which consists of sprinkling metal powder, in this case gold, on the already applied lacquer, in order to highlight the motifs that have previously been drawn on the surface of the lacquer.
