In a press conference called by Nick Hayek, CEO of Swatch Group, Raynald Aeschlimann, president and CEO ofOMEGAand the president of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach, the extension of the agreement between Omega and the International Olympic Committee has been announced, which will allow the Bienne brand to be the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games until 2032, the year in which it will celebrate 100 years of Olympic Timing. The Olympic Games of the XXXV Olympiad, to be held in 2032, will mark 100 years since the beginning of OMEGA's relationship with the event, which dates back to 1932 with the Los Angeles Olympic Games. To date, OMEGA has been Official Timekeeper 27 times and has developed and introduced some of the most innovative devices: the starting gun, the pool touchpads and the Scan 'O' Vision MYRIA photofinish camera, which debuted in Rio de Janeiro capturing 10,000 images per second.

Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, enthusiastically welcomed the extension of the collaboration: "OMEGA is the world leader in sports timing and the extension of the agreement until 2032 means that Olympic athletes will continue to rely on its expertise. 2032 is an important date, as it will mark 100 years since OMEGA has been timing the Olympic Games."
Tsunekazu Takeda, Chairman of the International Olympic Committee Marketing Commission, said: “We are delighted that OMEGA has become the first global Olympic Partner to reach an agreement until 2032. It is also the first time in our long-standing relationship that OMEGA has extended its relationship for a further twelve years, highlighting the strength of the Olympic Games and the International Olympic Committee's commercial programmes.”
