After the launch of the Chronotimer collection inspired by the passion for racing,Porsche Design presents the new 1919 collection, which pays homage to an architectural trend that deeply influenced the founder of Porsche Design, Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. While the Chronotimer collection represents dynamism and sportiness,The new 1919 collection embodies serenity, balanced aesthetics and minimalismpurist and functional, which are key elements of the success and longevity of the Bauhaus style, which will turn one hundred years old in 2019.
Already in 1963, with the creation of the legendary Porsche 911, Prof. F.A. Porsche showed that uA timeless shape can be created with a minimalist design languagethat is functional and reduced to the essentials. In 1972, he incorporated this iconic design into his company; PorscheDesign. This idea remains the driving force of the company today.
Focusing on the essentials
El Porsche Design 1919 Datetimer Series 1 interprets the functionality of architecture in a unique wayto give it a clock shape. The characteristic shape of its case merging with the strap gives it visual lightness and timeless purism. The structure of its dial makes it easy to read the time and date. Thetimeless elegance of the Datetimerand its technical perfection make it a product designed to last.
time and space
The Porsche Design 1919 Globetimer Series 1 continues the purist designfrom the 1919 collection but integrating a second
time zone. A 24-hour scale is added to the dial and aadditional hand indicating the second time zone, an especially attractive feature for travelers who spend their daily lives in multiple time zones. The 1919 Globetimer Series 1 shows the time simultaneously in both the destination and origin countries. It is available in four models. The caseback shows the 24 world time zones with their reference cities.
