A tribute to the most creative spirit of the Lange watchmaking dynasty, the newRichard Lange Tourbillon Pour le MériteIt joins the four extraordinary complications with the nickname “Pour le Mérite” created by the brand since it launched its first collection of new-age watches 20 years ago. The common element of these highly precise mechanisms is the chain and snail drive perfected by Lange for the wristwatch format, which guarantees that the mechanism is constant throughout the duration of the watch.
In the case of the new modelRichard Lange Tourbillon Pour le Mérite, it is a one-minute tourbillon that is responsible for the highest walking stability. Its stop-seconds hand allows the balance wheel inside the tourbillon cage – and along with it, the mechanism – to be instantly stopped by removing the crown and thus being able to set the watch with the precision of a second. Thus, two centuries after the invention of the tourbillon, de Lange watchmakers have learned to stop it.
El Richard Lange Tourbillon Pour le MériteIt is inspired by the chronometer No. 93 of the Dresden watchmaker Johann Heinrich Seyffert, who at the end of the 18th century was one of the pioneers of precision watchmaking in Saxony and which was admired by the famous German naturalist scientist Alexander von Humboldt. The sphere ofRichard Lange Tourbillon Pour le MériteIt has a patented pivoting dial: between 6 and 12 o'clock a small auxiliary dial occupies the space of the notched segment in the hour circle which, during the rest of the time, allows the mechanics of the tourbillon to be contemplated. The time indications are arranged separately on the regulator dial, the large minute circle above and the small auxiliary dials for hours and seconds below form an isosceles triangle.
The special edition ofRichard Lange Tourbillon Pour le MériteIt is presented in a contrasting white gold case with blued steel hands and blue hour markers on the minute display against the background of the solid silver dial and offers excellent ease of reference.
