Seiko's centuries-old history of being a success in the manufacture of mechanical watches culminates in a new collection called Presage. All the extensive experience of the Japanese house is materialized in extraordinary completely mechanical models.
PresageIt is a very attractive collection and is made up of 60 models. It uses the full range of Seiko mechanical calibers, from the affordable 4R, through the 6R, to the exclusive 8R. The most notable are the model with multi-hand power reserve and a series that uses a new version of the 4R57 caliber. This new caliber is the first from Seiko to feature a central power reserve indicator.
In addition, the new Seiko line is also inspired by the famousLaurel, the first wristwatch from Seiko and Japan. This heritage is represented intwo automatic chronographs with caliber 8R48:SRQ021y SPB041, whose dials have been manufactured following the most sophisticated Japanese craftsmanship. Both models, one enamelled and the other lacquered, celebrate 60 years of Seiko watch manufacturing and will be available starting this September.
Each model is equipped with sapphire crystal and offers a pressure resistance of 10 bars. But what makes this model so special is not only the beauty, depth and subtle texture of the enamel dial, but that each dial has been made by skilled artisans led by master Mistura Yokozawa. The dials are hand painted and polished several times. A long and very demanding job but the only traditional way and the best way to create the perfect black color. Which ensures that the polish color lasts for decades.
