For those who still had doubts: theBarcelona Watch Experience was a resounding success. So much so that practically all of the participants in this edition (we could call it “pre-edition”, in the words of its director, Gregori Vizcaíno) have already confirmed their attendance for the next one and based on the comments heard, it is expected to increase said attendance with new additions.
In Special Watches We feel privileged to have been able to participate and contribute our grain of sand in such a well-organized event. And it's not nonsense, it's true.
From the workshops to the conferences, the sell-outs have been happening. Even some especially attractive activities had to be fully booked, such as Frank Muller's presentation in Suárez or the wine tasting in Torres, and the seminars on investing in vintage watches or digital marketing were also very well attended.
The media coverage, for its part, has been equally notable, with appearances and reviews on television, the printed press and - of course - digital.
The second-hand watch market, held at the Palauet on Paseo de Gràcia, has also been a success and has left very good feelings among participants, both professionals and visitors, so that it is possible that for the next edition we will have to look for a more spacious place. It's certainly not official, but I'm sure the alternative would be equally impressive.
It remains to be seen whether there will be one or more editions per year. What does seem clear is that there is space and theme to divide it into two different events: one dedicated to second-hand watches, such as the Watch Market, and another with the watch news of the moment, where brands and points of sale can get involved by presenting what Baselworld and the SIHH have brought back.
Each of them would be complemented with the conferences, talks or seminars most appropriate to the audience it attracts.
