This year 2017,Bell&Rosshas hit the nail on the head with the launch of the modelHorolum. A limited edition of 500 units, a traveling companion of the Horograph, which shares with it its iconic square design and simple lines, inspired by the 2005 reference and which has made it the favorite watch of pilots.
El HorolumIt combines functionality and high performance with extraordinary readability thanks to the minimalist design based on the avant-garde Bauhaus movement: its dial within a square, in addition to immersing us in the suggestive atmosphere of airplane cabins, perfectly complies with the canon of functionality that induces form, the leitmotiv of the German school.
With a simple design and industrial aesthetic, the Bell&Ross Horolum reproduces the lighting codes of a landing strip, where lighting is a crucial issue. In fact, its name comes from the combination of the Latin root “Horo” (hour) and “lum”, from “lumen” (light).
It is not surprising, then, that light and legibility are the protagonists of this model. A SuperLuminova treatment allows for comfortable reading, day and night. On the other hand, it presents a color combination typical of an airport: intense green predominates, like the powerful light that guides planes to the runway during night landings.
Its steel-covered case achieves an image of purity that reminds us of the original Bell&Ros BR-01 model. With a very similar look, the brass dial forms a homogeneous block with the case, built in a sandwich style. This sphere is made up of two superimposed metal plates, and in the upper part it has been cut out to be able to perfectly appreciate the photoluminescent details of the lower plate. Faithful to its goal of simplicity, it shows only the numbers 12, 3, 6 and 9 whose shape and positioning obey the purest Bell&Ross style.
