To celebrate its 60 years of success, the collectionBreitling Superocean Heritage IIIt surprises us with its new design, a nod to the modern explorer.
Recapturing the essence of that first diving watch that was launched in 1957,Breitlinghas been renewing its models but has always tried to maintain the original spirit that marked the appearance of its Superocean Héritage collection, an emblematic line that it has now revitalized with this version II, which preserves intact its timeless style and its care for technology.
The new collectionBreitling Superocean Heritage IIIts main innovation is a new steel bezel with a high-tech ceramic ring, ultra-hard, scratch-resistant and highly resistant to shocks. Furthermore, as the metal ring around the minute circle has been eliminated, this bezel integrates perfectly into the dial, whose chromatic design complements the original logo of the Superocean line. The shape of the hands is also a novelty, with the hour hands in the shape of a triangle and the minute hands in the shape of a rhombus. The indexes, with a slightly conical shape and luminescent dots, offer optimal readability.
The collection is made up of three models: two watches (with a 42 and 46 mm case, respectively) and a 46 mm chronograph, all of them available in three versions: black, blue or bronze. The “bronze” versions can be complemented with an exclusive rubber-leather bracelet of the same color, with contrasting stitching. And in addition to leather, crocodile skin and rubber, all models can be obtained with a braided steel bracelet inspired by the legendary 1957 bracelet.
Regarding technique, the modelBreitling Superocean Heritage II Chronographe 46It houses an automatic chronograph movement with chronometer certification from the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Control). For their part, the modelsSuperocean Heritage II 42 and 46,They come equipped with the in-house caliber B20, and also with COSC certification, a highly precise and proven robust automatic movement that benefits from a power reserve of 70 hours. It is a mechanism derived from the Tudor Manufacture Caliber MT5612, the result of the recent and successful collaboration between this brand andBreitling.
Finally, its steel case, with a screw-down crown, is water-resistant to 200 m, and the grooved unidirectional rotating bezel, with a luminescent dot at the 12 o'clock position, is equipped with a 120-tooth system that guarantees a very precise adjustment and great flexibility of rotation, an operation designed to accurately calculate dive or flight times, honoring its adventurous essence.
