To celebrate 130 years of the company, Victorinox Swiss Army has created a watch with a strong and versatile design, and so solid that it defies the imagination: the I.N.O.X.
The name I.N.O.X. refers to stainless steel, the solid and corrosion-resistant material that Victorinox adopted more than 50 years ago, before it became the norm within the Swiss watch industry.

And for an exceptional celebration, an exceptional watch: theI.N.O.X.It boasts a level of robustness never before achieved in watchmaking. Designed to withstand unusual conditions, it has far passed a battery of 130 resistance tests designed to verify its solidity. And, as you may have guessed, the number of tests, 130, has not been chosen at random. In addition to the standard homologation tests that the Swiss watch industry provides, they have been established especially for theI.N.O.X.a series of unpublished tests that reflect the will ofVictorinox Swiss Armyto overcome barriers and impose new rules in the game of resistance. In the search for the greatest possible solidity, no less than 421 prototypes were sacrificed over 6 months, to allow theI.N.O.X.achieve desired resistance goals. And, above all, to answer a single and singular question: what does a Swiss-made watch need to be a watch?Victorinox Swiss Army?
Among these 130 tests, some exceed what is imaginable. TheI.N.O.X.:
- At temperature variations ranging from -57° to +71° Celsius. This is the standard set by the US army for the manufacture of its missiles. In the watch world there is nothing comparable.
- At a compression of 8 tons in a hydraulic press. I.N.O.X. It can also withstand the weight of a 25-ton truck passing over it, or a military tank of up to 64 tons.
- Proof of corrosion from salt spray or even chemical attacks from all types of fuels, oils, solvents, cleaning products, insecticides... even a solution of sulfuric and nitric acid. Once again, this is not a watchmaking standard, but a military one, adopted from the US Army.
- A drop from 10 meters high onto a smooth cement surface. Which is equivalent to a three-story fall, with an impact speed of 50 km/hour.
- To the polar cold. The watch continues to run without interruption and without problems even inside the ice for 168 hours.
- Under the extreme conditions of an altitude of 21,300 meters, double the flight height of airliners.
These bold features are also very useful for dealing with the mishaps of daily life: theI.N.O.X.It can, for example, come out unscathed after more than two hours of washing in the washing machine, or the equivalent of a cycle of white clothes at 90° Celsius. Spin included, of course.
